The company is based on providing web based solutions to its customers worldwide. It aims to fulfill all our customers’ software based and customized application based needs. Our mission is to provide quality service to our customers who need our help for their businesses at reasonable rates and provide them the best solutions that will solve their problems for a extensive period of time. At the moment we have two offices to develop our software, our main competitors are also situated close to us and also across the globe, therefore we have to be much focused and plan our strategies accordingly else we can run out of business. Our company is divided into three main departments of information systems group, provisioning services Group, and manager of customer Service. Each department has its own set of directors under whom each of the heads of the departments and managers will be functioning. Since our organization is new we don’t have too many departments that is why each person will be doing multiple roles at the same time. You will be answerable to the CEO who will be there to over look your work and help you with your decisions. (Robbins Judge, 2005) Since we are in the initial stages of our business therefore we all need to work as one team and plan things ahead so that we can reduce the mishaps that can occur in future. As the manger of our departments I expect you all to be very clear of the mission of this company and based on that you define and identify your goals. This would include strategic planning and staff planning. Your senior managers are going to establish the over all objectives for the company and its your job to turn them into tactical objectives and make your less seniors workers understand them. (Fleming, 2005) Leadership is an important part of becoming a successful manager. It is your ability to lead other people so that they look up to you, trust you and therefore give in their best. It is your responsibility to take care of your sub ordinates who will be helping you with your work. Motivation is an important part of leadership. You need to keep your employees intact with the goal of the company. Make them understand their importance to this company. Employees are one of the greatest assets of a company and we don’t want to lose this asset. (Employee Engagement – A Concept Clean Up) As a manager you are responsible to look into all the matters that are under your control. In order to make things works in a systematic way you will have do organize your team of workers, time and resources in the most efficient manner. It is not about giving instructions only. You need the right kind of people to work under you and delegate responsibility to them . There should be clear division of work. And each department is accountable for its outcome but they all should work for one common vision. Well planned and organized work is a sign of good management and that is what we want our managers to be like at Falcon-Star Software. It is your duty to measure the performance of your department and your employees by comparing it against the targets that you had set for your self and if there are any shortcoming you need to over come that by taking appropriate corrective actions. This will help you in not repeating the same mistake again and learn more from the past experience. As it is said by Hertzberg that giving feed back is very important if things are going the way you wanted them to be. (Echols, 2005) Apart from them you are responsible for coordination between your different activities. The goals of each department should be the same. Try to avoid situations which would end up wasting resources, money and effort. Our aim is to give our customers the best developed software to fulfill their requirement. Communicate with your staff and encourage them. Failure to keep satisfied employees can adversely affect the business. Different managers have different ways of approaching problems. You can choose your own ways of doing work as long as it’s giving us result. You should understand your role and what we want from you at work. You have to plan, organize, control, communicate, and lead the organization and its employees. Our focus is our customers. We together have to work as a team so that our goal is met and we are able to compete with our competitors successfully. For that we require efforts from every individual however, the role of a manager in a company is versatile. They give fuel to the organization. Is human nature fundamentally good or bad? Mengzi argues for the instinctive goodness of human nature; however, admits our inherent goodness must be encouraged through propriety. Mengzi treats nature as one’s natural â€Å"potential, inclinations, or capacities† (Liu 68). It is important to note, however, that he only views nature as the beginning. Mengzi believes that the way we behave as mature humans is the result of how successful we are in fulfilling our nature. Other Confucians, like Xunxi, argued â€Å"human nature is bad; his goodness is the result of man’s deliberate effort† (86); however, Mengzi believed the contrary to be true. According to Mengzi, nature refers to the natural inclinations of humans. Thus, any development in the opposite direction is a direct consequence of some form of external stimuli. Mengzi views nature as a â€Å"species-specific notion† (68) that separate us from lesser animals. More specifically, humans are distinct from animals because they are born with moral virtues. Mengzi believed that because all humans belong to the same species, all humans possess the same universal nature. He goes further by claiming that due to our collective universal nature, any differences demonstrated by mature humans are owing to an â€Å"external environment and individual effort† (69). For the purposes of this paper, let us assume that Mengzi is correct in his argument for the innate goodness of human nature. So if humans naturally tend toward virtue and all possess the sprouts of morality within, what rationalizes the inconsistency between instinctive goodness and manifested badness? Although Mengzi highlights the heart/mind of our nature desires moral virtue, he also acknowledges that â€Å"desire for physical comfort and material g... ... chef. While it is true that a human’s physical and biological attributes are determined biologically, no two humans are actually identical. That being said, how can all human’s morals be a biologically determined constant? It would be more plausible to think that while humans have the capacity for moral virtue, the extent on which they are able to actualize this capacity differs as much between people as physical traits such as taste. This leads us to another criticism. The second example is also flawed. Consider the Iron Chef Bobby Flay. He is known for, amongst other things, being a world renowned chef as well as a television show called BBQ with Bobby Flay. Although many people would view his cooking as amazing, these tastes are not shared by all (a vegetarian for example). This is just another example of his flawed belief of a shared and universal human nature.

Charles’ Law and Absolute Zero

Date of experiment: November 4, 2010 Date submitted: November 11, 2010 Introduction: As per Charles’ Law, there is a linear relationship between the temperature and volume of a gas. Charles discovered that -273Â °C is the point at which a gas has no volume. Since that's as cold as he thought things could ever get, that originated the idea of absolute zero. In this experiment, Charles’ Law was applied and made into data to determine an experimental value for Absolute Zero. To do so, a fixed amount of gas was confined in a small, uniform sample tube.The temperature of the gas was changed, by being placed in water. The expected result is that as the temperature of the gas gets cooler (decreases), the volume of gas will decrease. Procedure: A 400mL beaker was filled with tap water and place on a hot plate until the thermometer read 55Â °C. Then a sample tube filled with two mercury plugs was obtained from the instructor. With a ruler, the distance between the two mercury plugs was recorded. Using small rubber bands, the sample tube was strapped to the ruler, which was then attached to the bottom of thermometer.A cork was attached onto the top of the thermometer, and then clamped in the beaker of pre-heated water. The initial temperature and distance between each plug in the pre-heated water were then recorded. Ice was added and stirred every so often to cool the temperature of the water. When the beaker was going to overflow, small amounts of the water were removed by a pipet. The temperature and distance between each plug were then recorded every two minutes. Eight sets of temperatures were recorded when the goal temperature of 0. Â °C was achieved. This supports Charles’ Law which states . When creating my graph, I did not include the first initial temperature and length recordings. The plot was not anywhere near the others, and would have thrown off the slope. My value for absolute zero was fairly close to the excepted -273Â °C. There was a small difference of 3. 8Â °C between the two values, with a percent error or 1. 4%.My results were expected because I was obviously not going to get the perfect -273Â °C absolute zero value, due to experimental error. Sources of experimental error that could occur are if the initial temperature of the water was over 55Â °C and if the mercury plugs were not fully submerged in the water. If the water was over 55Â °C, then the ruler would have deformed from melting. This would make the ruler’s readings unreliable. If the mercury plugs were not fully submerged in the water then they would not get the full effect of temperature change.

She is intelligent enough to note that words people use to describe ideas, events or concepts are inferior lacking enough description and are only used as ways to conform reality. On the other side, Clegg is just a boy that loves Miranda so much and even had plans to kidnap and put Miranda in his cellar. In the novel, the author says that Clegg could watch Miranda enter and leave the house across the street from the town hall in which he worked. How a child is raised contributes so much to his/her adult life. Apparently, the absence of Cleggs parents during his childhood is what led to him being psychologically scared. It continued and later on affecting his adult life. He did not grow up with his parents. Therefore, he lacks the parental affection every child should have. In the text, it is seen that his hobby was collecting butterflies. He grew up with butterflies as his closest companion which he came to be referred to as a butterfly collector that maybe led to his unique personality. His personality did not only affect him but also affected the people around him. Here he saw Miranda as the beautiful butterfly and wished to collect her and keep her as he did to the butterflies. (Fowles, 23). The words in Miranda’s diary â€Å"crude, so terribly primitive to a drawing, painting, and sculpture† (Fowles, 158).Words build and also words destroy. Miranda’s words killed Clegg at first before Clegg turning back to kill her. Clegg compares the disappearance of his parents to the people he loves. He becomes so attached to a person as per his personality that he happened to have developed when he used to collect butterflies.   He becomes attached to feel safe. He ends up treating Miranda like one of his butterflies. The writer describes the process of catching a butterfly as hard. ‘It was like not having a net and capturing the specimen you wanted if your first and second finger, coming up slowly behind and you had it, but you had to nip the thorax, and it would be quivering there’(Flowles, 40). He says that Miranda was twice as difficult. â€Å"I thought I had better think it over first and then, in any case, I found the diary† (Fowles, 308). It shows that even before he read the newspaper, he was unsure of Miranda view of him, but it had not affected him from before. Words are sometimes better left unsaid. He was okay before he read the diary. He only changed after reading it. He is represented as an evil man and an abductor.   Miranda is kidnapped because of the words in her diary. Clegg drives her to his house and forces her to the basement. She is promised to be freed after a month of captivity but goes back on his promise after Miranda tells him she does not love him. John Fowless narrates the encounter and what she did to her before killing her, and it comes out so evil and criminal. Miranda catches pneumonia and desperately wants to be set free. In conclusion, words have incredible impacts on someone’s life. I agree with Joyce text that although the background might have affected his personality, the words from Miranda’s diary had a much more impact on Clegg’s life. After reading the diary, Clegg realizes that he might not win Miranda’s, heart. It makes him plan her death, but after her death, he learns that he should do things differently.   It supports the notion that words have a significant impact on the behavior of a person. They influence the expression of genes that regulate physical and emotional stress. Clegg ends up neither wanting Miranda nor wanting to free her. Therefore it is not wrong to say that it was the impact of her words that killed her. Therefore, one should not any word for granted but consider its meaningfulness and the relevance in different perspectives
